The everyday world around us is beautiful if you take the time to really look at it. Notice the details in just about anything and they are absolutely amazing. God is awesome! A fellow artist told me about an assignment she had for an art class. They were to walk the same path every day for a month and look for something new each trip. The objective was for the students to learn to observe the details of the world around them. My photographs allow you to see some of those details that you may have missed.
Art has been a large part of my life as far back as I can remember. I have been painting in oils since I was twelve years old and got a B.A. degree in Art. I bought my first digital camera, a Canon A530, in April, 2006 for a trip to Colorado. I was anxious to try it out before we left so I started taking pictures with it the morning it arrived in the mail. I was hooked from the first click! Before a month had passed I'd taken over 3,000 photos and I knew after 3 weeks that I wanted a higher quality camera. I bought a used Canon 20D and have since changed to a Canon 50D. Good lenses are important and I use a Canon 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS USM and a Canon 70-200 f/4L. They are fantastic lens and wonderful for detailed close-ups as well as wildlife. I also have a Canon 24mm f/2.8, a Canon 50mm f/1.8 and a set of extension tubes for macro work.
How often have you stood at the card rack in the store and searched for an appropriate yet attractive card that said precisely what you wanted to say when most are too generic or too mushy? One of my most popular products is a 5x7 card which includes a 4x6 glossy photograph of your choice on a colored mat hand mounted on a 5x7 white card that comes with a matching envelope. Some of the cards have text on the photo which include phrases such as "Happy Birthday" or "Have A Nice Day" while others have no text. All are blank on the inside and await your own personal greeting.
I am available for portrait sittings. I shoot outdoor portraits and, if conditions are appropriate, I can take the portraits in your home. I do not use lights so proper lighting is essential. Since weather plays such an important role in outdoor photography, alternate plans for a backup date should also be arranged. Your portraits may include you, your family, your pets or your classic automobile. If you are in the Mobile, AL / Pensacola, FL area please email Beverly for an appointment.
Photography is exciting! It brings nature's beauty into your home for you, your family and your friends to enjoy. Click on one of my albums to see for yourself how a photograph can brighten your day!
